Case study 3

  • Project Offshore tax processing centre
  • Sector Professional advisory
  • Date 2007-8

This project involved managing the offshoring programme of the tax business for a major international accounting firm. This included conducting the feasibility of certain front and ‘middle office’ activities in an offshore location, and considering the possibility of sourcing the work from an external provider.

We made a detailed analysis of the whole UK tax business and visited overseas suppliers for facility site visits and vendor selection. Having chosen a third party provider, we then oversaw the design and implementation of a unit of 30 tax return preparers (subsequently increased to 50). The project was delivered on schedule with quality expectations exceeded.
